Providing top tier Dental Care from toddlers to teens
An Important Milestone - Their First Pediatric Dentist Visit
The early years are full of firsts for your child. One of he most important is their first pediatric dentist visit, where they’ll be introduced to the dentist and staff who will care for them throughout life!
We recommend starting these visits as soon as possible – when a child turns 12 months old and continues every 6 months after that. Don’t wait to establish those positive relationships with our team today by bringing in your kids early so we can make this an enjoyable experience from start to finish!
Bringing you children for a dental checkup at any age is such a special time because we get to introduce them gradually through all aspects of dentistry – oral exams, teeth cleanings and x-rays.
Your child will enjoy the experience of a dental checkup with plenty to explore and learn such as counting teeth, meeting new friends in the office, playing games while waiting for their turn on the chair. By making this visit fun from day one your children are more likely to get excited about going back!

Pediatric Dentist Checkup Suggestions
If you have an infant, toddler or preschooler who needs to see the dentist for their first time, we recommend taking advantage of an appointment where someone else (such as an older sibling or grandparent) could take care of them while checking out all different aspects about the first visit.
Make your child’s pediatric dentist visit a happy one by talking about the dentist beforehand. Tell them that their new friend is going to help keep his or her teeth healthy and encourage him or her to ask any questions they may have, even if you don’t know all of the answers!
When possible, avoid exposing your kid to stories from friends or family members who might give false impressions. Let your child form theirs own opinions on how they enjoyed their time at the dentist!
Regular pediatric dentist Checkups
A regular checkup at Allay Dental consists mostly of a visual exam by Dr. Baek. We introduce your child to the dental chair, as well as other common items found in our practice such as safety glasses and toothbrush- we may even brush their teeth! Depending on how they’re feeling that day, it can be an exciting experience for all involved.
Our dental team is sensitive to the needs of children and will be sure to help you create a rewarding visit with your little one. For instance, we may offer positive reinforcement for good behavior or use show-tell-do techniques during treatments like showing them how they’ll feel after their treatment before doing it so they know what’s coming next. We also encourage parents to share any special words or cues that work best with their child in order for us maintain an effective dialogue about expectations between all parties involved!

As your child reaches age 2, we can include a polishing session to help get their teeth whiter and cleaner. By the time they come in for routine checkups at our office, they’ll have had lots of positive experiences so it will be easy to introduce this new tool with them!
Once you’ve gotten into good home habits such as brushing twice daily (and flossing!), regular visits should become exciting events that make sure your kid has a healthy smile all throughout life
